"Castello di Moncrivello" Moncrivello medieval castle Medieval castle,
province of Vercelli
- Civil Ceremony on site, Religious Ceremony in a Church 50 metres away.
The castle dates back to the eleventh century; it was the favourite
residence of the Duchess Jolanda of Valois, sister of King Louis XI of
France.
The castle is rich in history and in 1908 was proclaimed National
Monument. It has a stunning landscape.
Almost unique among private castles, the Moncrivello castle is home to
prestigious artistic and cultural events organised by the property and
the 'Cultural Association Duchess Jolanda’, always reported by the local
newspapers.
Over the centuries, the castle has maintained its strong medieval
atmosphere and has reached the current perfect condition thanks to a
major work of restoration, together with the "Belle Arti", which has
enhanced the manor, without altering its monumental character.
